Reasons Why Many Instances of Domestic Violence Go Unreported

Are you aware that rape between husband and wife actually happens? Yes! It does exist! But sad to say, these incidents were kept secret between the couple. Violence being committed to spouses has gone unreported all throughout the duration of the marriage. To be specific on what type of domestic violence that was a lifelong ordeal for wives is the marital rape, that seem to burn out all the self esteem of a woman. Destroying all the hopes and dreams of having a happy and peaceful life, with a husband and children. But the wife chose not to leave her husband, not even filed any complaints against the assault inflected upon her womanhood. What are the reasons behind her keeping it all to herself? Why does the abused wife chose to let the incident slip without so much as a murmur against it? The heartbreaking events have stayed and kept secret between the wall's boundaries. "But why?", you may ask?


The wife usually felt so ashamed to even confide to somebody of the mal-treatment that she had the misfortune to have experienced. She might not posses the courage to say a word after all all these heart breaking incidents that happened to her. Maybe she is afraid that if she files a complaint, her husband may hit her and abuse her furthermore. She maybe financially dependent to her spouse and she think that she cannot take care of their children all by herself because of her current status; these are just some reasons behind the silence of the raped spouse. She has chosen to keep the violations that was inflected on her by her husband all inside; and tolerate such harmful and degrading acts to continue. All these aforementioned reasons, may hamper any plans of reporting all that has happened to her. We cannot say for sure, and we are not in the right position to conclude anything. Since the abused person has decided to keep everything to herself.
She keeps saying to herself that she is doing it for the sake of her children; which is quite wrong. Having signed the marriage certificate and made your vows doesn't include nor stated in the contract that she must suffer such abuse from her beloved husband. Does she has to undergo such an ordeal or any woman for that matter and don't excerpt any effort to stop it on its track immediately? To stick it out with an abusive husband for the rest of her life seems inappropriate enough! And to think that she is actually entertaining the idea of enduring it for the rest of eternity is just horrible! Even just thinking about it gives me the creeps!

She deserves to live a happy and peaceful life alongside her family. Isn't that what she was promised when she accepted the endearments and promises by her beloved that ended up in marriage? She can put a stop on the assaults if she wants to prevent marital rape for progressing. It is absolutely up to her to exercise her rights to say no. Ask help from the proper authorities and be vindicated for what she has experienced through the hands of her abusive spouse. There is no valid reason possible that she can come up with, so as to make herself believe that she deserves what she is getting now!

The women who suffers from these harmful attacks must take a stand to prevent all of these things from happening to her! But she must do everything within the legal boundaries' of the law; no drastic actions must be taken or there might be unwanted consequences. Although there are a lot of loopholes in the system as to how women should be protected by the laws that exists, that says incidents like this are not allowable.If this happens the table of events might be overturned and create more problems, rather than resolving them.

Women's protection against violence must be strengthen in any possible way. The government must pay attention to the crimes that are being committed against them everyday! And not just look at this issue with a blind eye. They have the right to be protected against degrading assaults such as this!
